About Me

Joanna Roberts BA (HONS) MRCSLT,MASLTIP,HCPC Reg

I qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1989 after completing a degree in linguistics and language pathology at the University of Reading.

Since then I have worked for a number of NHS trusts in London and more rural areas. I also spent two years working in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In 2014 I completed a post graduate course in paediatric dysphagia.

In October 2017 I completed  the Introduction to PROMPT course and am now able to use this approach in therapy.

I have experience of working with children in mainstream pre-schools, nurseries and schools who have speech and/or language delay or disorder or who stammer. I also have experience of training staff so that they are able to help the children in their setting.

I have a particular interest in speech sound delay/disorders and associated motor difficulties.

I live in North Wiltshire and see children in that area and in South Gloucestershire in their homes, pre school/nursery or school.

I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Association for Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I hold a current DBS certificate.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.
